Mine had a significant vibration resonance triggered by coarse-treaded tyres although probably not your noise as from a slightly different area, being somewhere around the driver's foot-well. The cause was a misplaced spacer clip for the brake pipes emanating from the ABS modulator allowing the pipes to vibrate together, only discovered after replacing the wheel bearing without any improvement.

this is only on idle or increase of revs to around 1000rpm when it gets even worse, again when not moving Graeme...
my son checked all bits underneath when up on a ramp..

Mine's vibration only occurred whilst moving because that was when the tyres caused panels to vibrate. My thought was that the engine vibration could be causing something else to reverberate so worth checking that the pipes are properly spread by the (IIRC) 2 plastic clips, but perhaps some other pipes might be vibrating. The pipes from the ABS modulator are obscured below the transfer case ecu so can easily be overlooked.

we checked the pipes and they were ok Graeme , the consensus now is its somehow related to the engine as the engine block is vibrating/buzzing..

Can you hear the vibration under the car? There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Idea.....

The drivers side of the trans tunnel is where the module for the steps is "wedged" if the fitters didn't fit the foam round it it could be rattling under the trim. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

@sandy, over 1000rpm it disappears whether in neutral or drive...

@dave , not sure if it could be those, it only appeared after the turbo drain mod and the steps being fitted and i'm sure the fan or TC was touched..

@mark, my son checked underneath and it wasnt apparent there , but i will double check again.....

strangely when i fitted some replacement xenon bulbs the other day , i touched the top of the engine and the vibration was prominent , it felt like the engine was running a bit to fast. like it was on choke, but the rev counter says around 700rpm..

Whistle Assuming that you haven't been to the Ann Summers Shop, Shocked , You're complaining of a buzzing or is it a vibration?

Buzzing... are there any return springs on your part time steps?

Vibration.. if the engine is feeling lumpy, could it be an injector fault? Only I was convinced that my TCC was going again last year, right up until the injectors went and effectively gave me a ffrr with a freelander TD4 engine below 2000 RPM Shocked When it all gave out totally it was obvious that it was an injector... but for the 6 months leading up to the failure I thought it was my TCC.. one thing I did find was the higher the engine revs the more 'normal' it felt Rolling Eyes
