Slowly getting there

Ok im slowly getting there !!!!!!

Just wanted to run a couple of things past you experts !

Can i pick your brains ?

I thorght my bottom ball joint had gone due to a knocking going over sharp bumps etc comig from the front left. Everything was ok on inspection, nothig loose at all. Suspension works fine ! Any ideas ?

Also most worrying is a noise i get in a cercain gear at a cert speed, the only way i can describe it ia a ..... wait for it....... WA,WA,WA,WA,WA,WA,WA .!!!!!! When i accelerate its gone. The gearbox goes through all gears find, drops on command and goes through the geras find when slowing. All nice and smooth. 2007 TDV8 Vogue SE

Any funny noises with an expensive 3/4 year old vehicle and I'm straight into the dealers.
Hence my lack of a (sensible) response.

I make no aploergies for the fact i cant spell, i have suffered from a very severe form of dyslexia since a child. I couldnt even atend main stream scholl as couldnt even read properly, still cant ! I miss full sentences out and things just dont make any sence !

But I am still sat here in spain with a FF on my drive, one in the UK and living a very sucessful life at the age of 28, so it hasnt stoped me.

What i dont do however is point out what others can clearly see (but dont make a point of it) in a way to try and eather take the Censored or embarass someone else with out knowing all the facts....... infact i just wouldnt do it at all. The fact FOX has replied to the post means it can be understood even with spelling errors so why point it out ?

For the record i cant use spell checker as my computer has SPANISH windows ! 2007 TDV8 Vogue SE

there are simple plug-ins that you can install into your web browser that highlight spelling mistakes which then you can rectify...my answer to you was 'tongue in cheek' as obviously no one had read or felt confident/knowledgeable to answer your query...this forum isnt an instant answer facility, if no one knows then no one answers, so maybe a bit more patience with your next question....

Can we make this the last on on my spelling Scary ! LOL

I am ( even though i cant spell) quite intelligent ! I do know about spell checkers, eather for the comp or hand heled. Dont forget ive had this ALL my life, and spell checkers are nothing new. Infact ive had then from about 8 years old. However, spellcheckers dont work for me as they give you 5 or six sometimes more options on the miss spelled word, my form of dyslexia means i dont even know whitch one to pick !!! So i have learned to ( when useing forums) explain in my first post that i cant spell and say sorry in advance, and not to use spell checkers as i often then change the whole meaning of the topic by chooseing compleatly wrong words !!! I could start off by talking about tyres and finish up talking about horses !!!!!! 2007 TDV8 Vogue SE

The knocking could be due to a number of worn components. Most common are bottom balljoints, drop links, front anti-roll bar 'D' bushes, compression links and transverse links.

It could be any one or a combination of more than one of these items

Dan made a great point that you cant just tell the bottom ball joint by the usual means of a bar and a waggle as it could take over 2 tons to make it knock. I will re investigate when doing the pads.

Its that noise thats doing my head in ! 2007 TDV8 Vogue SE

The bottom balljoints are prone to creaking when they are on the way out. I omitted to mention track rod ends which are common failures on the FFRR and easy to check. The drop links too are easily checked.
