Sale of fireworks (explosive ones, not sure about rockets and pretty stuff) to the public has been banned for years here. Only commercial displays are allowed. But, by heck, there are a lot of them at Xmas and New Year. Ron B. VK2OTC

You did exactly what I would have done Stan. My 3 Border Collies are the same and we are normally OK living out in the country but on the odd occasion we do get fireworks I take them out in the car up a green lane to the top of the hill where we can see them without all the noise.

If it was a child you would do the same, and dogs are just as much part of the family as kids. They look to you as the pack leader to keep the pack safe. You did exactly the right thing mate Thumbs Up

I've got a gundog so fireworks don't stress him.

But the wife says that, if my dog could wear stockings and cook, she would be out on her ear.

Ours is more than a little pampered but we have no problems with fireworks frightening him because he absolutely loves them. The only problem is that he likes to chase them and makes a bit of a racket barking

Sorry it turned out side on

Hmm, I wonder if that's why all the labs we've had over the past 47 years have never worried about fireworks and other loud noises. Ron B. VK2OTC

Don't think so, this is a Maltese that we looked after over Christmas while the owner visited family in South Africa. 11 years old as well, doing OK for a Maltese. (ignore the slob behind the dog)

Wow! We used to breed bichons back in the 80's. Gorgeous dogs, and so loving.
I'm into the mix of dogs, think it's great for the gene pool.
my standard labradoodle is a 3rd generation, so 75%poodle. I adore him, and would go the extra mile like you stan.
Thumbs Up
