Removing injectors on 4.2 sc engine with 206/216/306/316

My 2008 is showing several codes Re misfires P0306 316 206 216 which relates to injector 6 circuit A. I am asking if anyone has done a home non dismantle injector cleaning if they have had this code. It’s 8 plus hours by the book to get at the injectors, (Re and Re) and probably a lot longer for me. I do need to change some hoses and pulleys on the front also but it would be nice to get it running. I’ve put in a new coil to no effect and I had pulled the plug to have a look at it looked typical but not steam cleaned. I have the fuel line removal tool which works but I can’t figure out how to unplug the injector harness from the main harness. I have pulled back the red clip but the plug does not come apart. I would really like to know that secret. Everything else seems doable but daunting. And when apart can I test the circuit with a noid light with so much disassembled on the engine as there seems to be no way to access the injector harness for that injector afaik as the wires are short and underneath the intercooler. Many thanks

To get to the injectors you need to remove the charge coolers, to get the charge coolers off you need to remove the Supercharger. It's quite a labour intensive job unfortunately.

If you look in the Wiki on here you can download the workshop manual which covers the 4.2 in great detail.

I've just done all of this on mine when I rebuilt the top end so let me know if you need any help.

You can see pictures of the rails here in my thread:

I had my injectors flow tested and rebuilt whilst they were off the car. The injector loom is detachable from the main engine loom so if you do find a break it can be replaced very easily.

Many thanks fof the heads up. Good to know it can be done. I was able to disconnect the connector with the red slide back clip. There is a clip underneath that you have to push to release the connector. I used an ohm meter on the exposed pins and found 11 ohms on 3 of the pins and infinite on what I believe is the #6 in question. I was hoping to try a non disconnect cleaning of the injectors which I may still try but it seems most likely that the injector itself has gone open circuit. The clip on the injector does seem suspect also but no way to get in there. Very unfortunate because with a bit more creativity the charge cooler and harness could have been designed to be accessible and removable so the injector could actually be tested without removing everything. I do have a rr manual but it’s hard to use efficiently so will review your reference. Thank you for the words of support.
