It will be the pedal or the throttle body, first thing to do is clean and check security of the plugs to both, you cannot dismantle them at all.
You can't rev the engine without them both talking to each other.
Ideally you need a diagnostic tool which will give you live values and tell you which one isn't working, if not then you have a 50/50 chance, I'd guess the throttle body is the suspect as it is far more complex and is in a nastier environment but they are rather expensive to be changing just because you think it's faulty..
As with all things FF, you need an IID or similar or you will spend a fortune changing parts.... Pete
