Question re IID

Hi Gang (and happy new year..!)

Quick question if I may - I have a friend with a Disco 3 that is having some issues (battery/EAS/others) messages on the dash and the car going to limp mode. It is a 2005 reg so they don't want to spend fortunes on it.

Did I read correctly that my IID BT (vin locked for my car) will actually read and clear faults for all all other supported cars without having to have a license.? Is it only the editing/updating features that require the license.?

Would just be useful for me to read the faults for them to see if it is a simple thing or big enough problems for them to sell up and move on.

Thanks Ash

kinda correct Ash...your tool is for your year band range rover [ie 2010-2012 ] and is vin locked for ccf....

you can read/clear codes on any other 2010-2012 range rovers only... ... - .- -.

Ah - I do have a second vin license for my neighbours Disco3 on it as well (paid for license) - does that mean it can be used for non licensed faults reads/clears? Ash

Why not just try it? Won't do any harm. As Stan says, if it is already opened to the Disco, it should work OK. John

If it's the latest BT IID then it will work on all JLR products that they make an IID for, the early BT IID was only able to read/clear on the same "type" of vehicle... Thumbs Up Pete
