United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover SE Td6 Zermatt Silver

As a dealer that specialises in Range Rovers and similar I would not believe the story you have been told re owners as a dealer would NEVER register a car in the dealer name and if its change of plates that DOES NOT add an owner.

5 Owner Range Rover will not be an easy sell and the price is up there with the top of the indy market. Plus when are car has been messed about with and grills vents changed etc its normally an indicator of a car that has been about a bit plus the fact that it does not have a full MAIN DEALER service history at that age would also worry me.

It could of course be a good car but you will never be able to change the number of owners... Exclamation

United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Vogue SE Supercharged Buckingham Blue

Price is a bit heavy... My 07 S/C would be up around 32k with 40k and 2 owners from new (me being 2nd) and a few additional spec desirable items on it. I don't think that car would command that much over the top.

I'd suggest getting copies of all the details including the log book and see if you can speak to previous owners, servicing garages - if there's a rat anywhere along the line you'll find it. This day in age it could something as simple as finance falling foul and someone selling up in a hurry or something as ominous as accident damage/lemon car causing all sort of problems and the dealer markup is more due to him trying to get the car to pay for itself after a period of issues resulting in the garage having to buy the lemon back.

There's a chance this car is 100% fine and with the ammo of over average owners and a very common spec you can push the dealer hard for a deal... do the homework and see if it pays dividend

and... best of luck Smile

They are out there, keep looking Thumbs Up Ian

Hi Guys

Many thanks for all the replies, most appreciated.

It's taken me over a year to decide to make the change and once I make a decision I usually want to address it ASAP but your opinions and posts have convinced me to be sensible about this and actually listen to my mind as if I'm being honest, the number of owners and story by the dealer was bugging me.

I am sure subconsciously I was trying to convince myself that the story could work and that the 6 months parts & labour by the dealer would cover any major / initial issues which should show up in that time (hopefully).

All that said I think it makes sense to keep looking and thanks for pointing out expected prices etc.

Two downsides now

1 - No RR Sad
2 - Xmas Day with the outlaws on the sofa Big Cry

Must keep looking then, of course if anyone spies anything appropriate can you PM me or drop a post here.

Thanks Guys (might have saved me from a real Lemon - more I look at it now I question my enthusiasm for the car) Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Well I wanted my FFRR by chrimbo but no luck. So I bought "my son" a remote control Range Rover Laughing As good as until I get the real thing. Only downside Is It's a Sport, even though It was pictured and described as a Vogue Sad

I know exactly what you mean, I'm impatient, and bought myself the wrong car, and am now paying the price! However you have a great budget, and when you find the right car you'll be in no doubt whatsoever, and you'll be so glad you waited. Hopefully you'll have years to appreciate making the right choice, wouldn't want to be sitting on the couch at Christmas thinking ' Censored I think I bought the wrong car!'.

Having said all of that, I'm happy to have a Range Rover, and to live with my poor decision/ impulse buy, but that's just because RR's are such fantastic cars. Once you find the right one, you'll be delighted. Spec wise just remember if you buy wisely there's a lot you can do aftermarket which will be at least as good as OE.

Good luck,

Cheers,

There was a nice spec TDV8 Bonatti Grey Vogue with low miles and 2007 at Beadles LR in Sidcup - you'd get a full year's warranty too.

It was in the budget you're looking at.

Worth a mention, although it's a bit off the target..........

http://www.lookerslandroverlondon.co.uk/us...ID=1142418

Newer, lower miles, less owners, no Rear Seat Entertainment.

Would sell it to a forum member for collection before Christmas Eve for £42,900 (£2,000 off).

I'm not in today but if it's of interest then please call one of the guys on 0208 992 2299.

James Thumbs Up

Hi James

Many thanks for the info........now you see you dangle the carrot, the other half sees me looking at it and there's the opportunity for a 'difference of opinion'.

Not really in budget but I'll hopefully get a chance to call you tomorrow to discuss.

Thx

Ralph
