It depends on whether it will decode HD (DVB-T, MPEG4). I haven't looked closely at what has been done but, if it is a conversion which only accepts SD (MPEG2) then it won't.

As you know all French TNT went to HD in April this year.

I have a digital unit which works in UK because the transmissions are still SD as well as HD but doesn't work in France.

I did post a thread some time ago trying to establish if there was a decoder that would work but got no joy. I wondered if the later models of the RR had HD which might be compatible (at a price!) but got no further.

It may be that the boxes could be converted to the HD standard but I haven't looked at that. John

PS. I have just looked at the first link and it states MPEG4 so should work in France. Wink

I still have my analogue tuner as well as my digital so will give it a go. Thumbs Up

PPS. "Not suitable for MOST (touchscreen) systems". Back to square one. Mr. Green John

French TV

Hi,

I have a L322 from 2010 and I'm trying to sort out the French TV issue. I get the Swiss channels but not the French.
I just came across this thread and was wondering whether the problem was not the digital versus analog in my case. I may have the digital tv but not able to read HD as all the french are in HD.

What do you think or am I speaking nonsense (I'm not a techie) ?

Thanks
Pierre

Afraid that's the problem. The digital decoder is SD only. The OP is trying a different set up. John

Hi Weegie,
Thanks for the reply. What does the "OP is trying..." mean?

Pierre, The Original Poster is trying to use a different TV decoding set up. See the first post in this thread and his, later, explanation of hat he has done.

As far as I can see, it only works on the earlier cars.

Thank you John.

Matt, thank you for the information you gave in this thread, unfortunately, not being a techie...

Few questions if you have a minute, my car is a 2010 L322, with touchscreen on the front and rear entertainment system at the back. I can watch swiss channels but not french (tnt) my tv won't even find them in blurry mode or something. Just no french channel at all:

- It seems my system has originally a digital tv?

- Would it be that I can't watch the french tv channels because they are HD (check weegie's reply)

- Do you have any idea on how to upgrade the 2010 multimedia so that I can watch french tv?

Thank you
Pierre
