Time from low to full ride height ?

Hi guys,

I've got a second hand RR 2003 and it's slow to change ride height. Roughly how long should it take to go from access to normal, and then from normal to off road?

Sometimes it seems to take about a minute or more, what should I be checking?

I can't hear any leaks, can I do the ride height without the engine running to try and pinpoint a leak?

Thanks in advance

Mines takes about 10secs to get from access to normal height..then it can take between 30/45 secs to properly reach off road height...i find if I switch between different heights quickly it slows....must need time to build up pressure in the air reservoir

With the car in High mode turn off the engine and have a listen by each wheel.. if you've a leak then you'll hear it.. I suspect that it's just an older compressor.. but I will say that the ffrr (early ones) do take their time to finalise the height setting.. they take a few seconds to get within a few mm of the final height and then take forever adjusting it Evil or Very Mad They can't make their minds up Sad and it feels the need to tweek it for a minute.. all the time the light is flashing.. but their is Censored all detectable movement Thud Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... I had this issue when I first got my Range, was the original compressor. Replaced and was a lot faster raising the car up after and less noisy.

Make sure you don't have any air leaks in the suspension though otherwise you will damaged a brand new compressor. 2003 Range Rover 4.4 Litre V8 - Adriatic blue

I think if your car was being too slow to change ride height you'd see the "Vehicle is raising slowly" message on the dash display. 2006MY 4.2 SC

There's also an air tank in the off/side sill, mine had a piece of wood stuck in it letting all the air out Three things in a blokes life his dog,his car and a Cornish pasty, nothing else matters.
