United Kingdom 2004 Range Rover Vogue Td6 Java Black

Hi all,

Thanks so much for everyone's advice and pointers over the last couple of weeks. After several days at my mate's specialist LR/RR garage (good excuse to use my lorry for extra curricular activities!) they spent some time head scratching. It seems- touch wood- that the culprit was the brake light switch on the brake pedal! Apparently it goes through the ECU as it sends info regarding traction control, cruise control, stability etc...

Who'd have thought it!

So if you get thee screen of death turn up, lock your RR and leave it for a bit before going back to it and get in WITHOUT touching the brake pedal and see if it starts! Could save a lot of faffing and looking for needles in proverbial haystacks!

Cheers, Tim
