I'd swap my piano black for cherry ,it makes such a nice contrast to my black/black interior and piano black just looks like shiny plastic despite what land Rover say . On another note if you are going to wrap the plastic panels you will need to take off the foundry finnish first otherwise it will look all lumpy like that first panel . 2008 MY Supercharged

Likewise, I'd love wood trim in mine. Being a HSE I just have black plastic.

If anyone wants to swap . . . . . Smile

Shocked When I said paint I didn't mean with nail varnish Wink

there wasn't enough primer applied to the first attempt, neither was there enough flatting off with fine (P800+) paper. As any good painter will tell you the quality of the finish is a direct result of the preparation, the more time doing the boring bits the better the finish, that's why it costs a fortune to paint a car properly...... just because they can paint a custom car in 5 minutes on the telly, doesn't mean that it's done in real time.... they spend days sanding the primer to get those high end finishes.

FYI in my distant past I have painted a few cars, and when flatting the primer with wet and dry, I managed to get a shine from the primer.... which is a matt paint, cos it was so smooth..... that resulted in 22" of reflected shine from a gun finish..... but it did take an eternity to do.... and then the next week we had a storm and the garage roof imploded on the car Shocked Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Had black in my 4.2sc and hated it, it showed every finger print, scratch or fleck of dust. The door pocket tops were scratched and looked cheap and nasty. My current car has black interior with cherry wood and i think it looks fab. But at the end of the day its your car and your choice Thumbs Up

Mine is the same as this (apart from the steering wheel is on the right side)

^^ and the gear lever Wink

Must say that I wasn't a fan of black interiors.... but that one does look the part Thumbs Up

I suppose that I spent too long surrounded by cheap grey leather and plastic wood (landcruiser) and I developed a great dislike for conventional interiors, that cherry wood cuts through what could be a bland place and lifts it... I went for a blue beige affair in mine Wink Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

Wood is just so dated and last century, no cancel that, century before last, talk about had it's day... Why JLR spend so much money making wood look like cheap plastic is beyond me, I had an old Volvo with plastic wood and it looked far better than the appalling junk you find in Range Rovers....

Anyway, I live in Hull and I've driven through Essex so I like fake carbon fiber.... I was going to do it gloss black as I think that looks the best but the abuse I give the FF it would be pretty scratched by now and look awful... At least I can pretend mine is an 80's XR2..... Whistle

Thumbs Up
