Rear number plate light bulbs....LED or OEM???

Thing is i brought some LED ones and they were ok.
But they started flickering....
I do like the LED brighter ones but do not want to chance getting more that do the same
anyone got some and had no issues? or just stick to origional type.
cheers...

I bought some LED ones and they worked fine for about 6 months and then I kept getting the "bong" check number plate light so I ditched them and went back to standard. they never flickered as they were canbus but had a habit of rotating around in the holders and as they were single sided (and not like a festoon bulb) that meant constant checking to ensure the light was the right way round. To be honest the light from them (either type) is not great as my car has a reversing camera surround on the number plate so really its not an issue for me Cool

I had eBay can bus ones and worked ok for a while and then started getting multiple light fault bongs but none relating to the number plate lights though.

When I finally decided to check them there was a very strong smell of burning and they had started to overheat but had started to melt the plastic surround which could potentially of caught fire so I have gone back to extra bright standard type as the LED ones do look nice and a massive car blaze is also fairly interesting but altogether an expensive hobby.
