coolant system querie..

I've not used the car for a good 2 days and decided to replace my dodgy looking bleed screw on my coolant tank..started to unscrew it and an amount of coolant came spewing out?...it wasn't a great deal but I was under the impression that once the system cools down any pressure will drop as well..i had the filler cap of as well and there was no release of coolant from that part only the bleed screw hole? ..

Personally I don't like that bleed screw, I always leave it well alone, it just seems to create air locks and problems, I always fill the system very slowly then leave it ticking over for 30mins with the main cap off and it pukes all the air out... Pete

I tried it again tonight..only got a slight hiss from it so I'm a bit relieved...amazing how its stayed slightly pressurised for a few days after I last used it? The second I seen it spewing coolant I thought the worse.(as usual Laughing

It's usually a good sign to have a bit of pressure left in the system after a few days, it shows that the head gaskets for one aren't leaking.

Rolling Eyes Oh Dear a really bad case of Roverphobia Sad There is no known cure, so you'll just have to stay with the support group.... some people find it helps to share the worries.....
