Currently have upgraded the tv unit to mpeg2 digital. However, earlier this year all terrestrial tv in France was changed to mpeg4 and consequently cannot receive tv here. It works fine in UK as transmissions there are dual mpeg2/mpeg4. As I am in Uk about once a year it doesn't make for a lot of viewing.

The French mpeg4 is hd, Stan. My understanding is that although the transmission is in hd it is still possible to have a picture on an sd screen.

It changed from mpeg2 to mpeg4 in April this year and so only hd for terrestrial, Stan. If your tuner is only mpeg2 you won't get French tv in the car. John
