Ideally they should move to SC and Turbo but that's not likely to happen with them getting every possible penny or of each car these days FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

To me that is describing the SDV6 be the tdv8(3.6) setup... I don't see mention of the 4.4 setup really FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

The 3.6 has 2 matching turbos with 1 turbo feeding each bank in the same manner as the 2.7 TDV6 as originally fitted to Jags. The 4.4 has a primary turbo on the right bank feeding both banks and a smaller secondary on the left bank contributing when operating, similar to the 3.0 TDV6 although the 3.0 TDV6's primary turbo is on the left bank and secondary on the right bank. |

Greame do you have any backup info for this at all as I'd be interested in seeing how it's all plumbed in 👍 FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

These diagrams from the D4 workshop manual are for the 3.0 TDV6 so the primary and secondary turbos are on the wrong sides for the 4.4 TDV8 and the 3.0 has a single air-box whereas the 4.4 has 2, but otherwise show the flow. The first diagram isn't quite correct because the turbine shut-off valve (2) prevents exhaust flow through the secondary when closed yet the diagram shows that exhaust gas still flows, but perhaps a small flow still occurs.

thanks so much for all the comments... I am very tempted to the upgrade to 4.4 since 405 is out of budget and honestly, too flashy for my taste... but my 3.6 interiors do tend to show the passing of time too much for my taste...

I've not seen much regarding turbo issues on the 4.4. The 3.6 yes, but not the 4.4.... yet anyway....
