You need to go into the dealership with your V5 and a driving licence or passport as proof to order a key. The cost is £168.50 + VAT, although I never paid for mine, the person who sold me the vehicle has paid for it.

Did you only programme the new key or all keys? |

hi this is how it works as i have done it.. you can reprogram the blip and it will open the doors and lock the doors but will not start the car. as said in post before you can NOT reprograme a used transponda chip, not your self or at a dealer, it will be a new reprogamed one and will have to come from the dealer. they have you buy the balls.and best of all you have to pay up front for te key... When a new key is ordered from LR it comes ready to start the vehicle, the transponder is already paired to the anti-theft system of the vehicle and the new key will start the engine. (this was what I suspected).

Christ thats a bargain. I was quoted NZ$1100 for key 3 weeks ex UK. I will leave the conversion rate to you guys. What me off is I have a nice new housing, I have a good working mechanical key, I have a good working transponder what I do not have is a good working circuit board. I have tried synching this key as it was the original working key when I bought the car, the spare had a flat battery. Now it occasionally works while the spare goes great guns. Is it possible to just change the electronic bits without going through all the hassle of a key and transponder? Adrian |
