no radio!

Collected our 2003 vogue v8 on sat, the radio was mentioned as not working in do much as occasionally it would not pick up signal, cd etc played fine. Yesterday tried to get it working but there is nothing- the screen comes on and i have nav etc (no sound), the dsp option dispalys briefly when first turned on then vanishes! when the left volume/on off knob is pressed nothing- no red light to indicate radio on. doees anyone have any sugestions?

Thanks in advance!

Have you checked for moisture in the ICE compartment? Next step is to unplug the big multiplugs from the various components in the boot and give a liberal squirt of Electrical Contact Cleaner. I personally wouldnt use WD40 on these components, but have heard others have.

In the future, always run the car with the AC on to dry out the interior air.

Happened to me on a stock S-Type "R" 4.2 Supercharged Jag and all it needed was to be turned off an on again. I suggest you disconnect the battery and reconnect.

Problems could be to do with Battery itself and it may need replacing.....

had a good play with the radio over the weekend/last night. found the fault to lie with the bm54 unit, removed the unit and tried a replacement out of a firends car and the system worked perfectly!
Bought a replacement and fittted last night and all was good- untill this am when i came to use the car and had a totaly flat battery! wouldnt even unlock the car- will investigate tonight once home but suspect there is a drain on the systme in the radio wiring!
