I have changed tires on our 07 ffrr with retractanle side steps, no problem. Just lock the steps on the outer settings, use a hydraulic garage lift, will not conflict with the steps.

I've used a merc sprinter bottle jack, much reported on this site, on the normal jacking points. There is a small area between the step and the wheel which allows up and down movement of the jack handle. Works ok. Small and easy to use jack with good lift. Thumbs Up 2012 5.0L S/C

You can't use the supplied scissor jack in the boot on the factory jacking points.

There are other ways to jack the car.

Thanks all, and thanks for that link to the old thread.

If out and about, will probably just call the AA and show them this Smile
