TD6 Turbo removal

I have seen the overly complicated diy on you tube but have also read its much simpler with access from the top via removing blanking plugs from under the air filter. My question is has anyone actually done it on here, if so is it easy to do by dropping the exhaust to get room to drop the turbo out once undone. Is there a good write up with pictures, I cant find one.
I am asking as if its an easy enough job I would remove mine just to give it a total clean of the variable vanes and a re core, if not I will leave well alone. The turbo has done 210000 klms I presume thats getting long in the tooth so this would be preventative maintenance not desperate. 2007 TDV8 VSE

Their is a good write up, but I think on another forum, iirc it was quite detailed.
