I would say that my experience was very different and I had no issues or feel difference with the Brembo discs at all, however on a percentage basis, Craig is an expert and will have seen many more cases than mine so perhaps I was lucky. Formerly happymadison1978

I have seen a few things ... but those disc's are past their sell by date !

Its just as easy just to change the Pads & Dic's at the same time - I just buy everything and change the whole lot in one hit and you know they are 100% spot on.

good luck

Ah Thanks Stan!

I have (well, had) EBC red stuff pads, that possibly explains it.

Useful info and thanks for the clarification!

I guess if you have an expensive motor it is always better to change but if you are on a budget you may think differently.By rights you only need to change if they are warped, cracked or below the recommended thickness but even looking at Haylands picture it just goes to prove what discs can take. The discs on my work van were recommended changing by the garage on service because I had 'blued them' but they are still going strong 30,000 miles later.I also put Blue point pads on the front of the FF and I cannot tell any difference except they were £23 !

^Rangyman, you don’t have Brembo callipers on your 04 so............ This thread does NOT apply to your model sir Thumbs Up

Si, the callipers are made by Brembo, the Genuine Pads are made by Jurid. Im unsure who made the discs for JLR but the original JLR units do have JLR & BREMBO with a min & max thickness stamped around the brake bell...

Stephen, the main issue are the front pads! The BREMBO red boxed pads are of an unknown origin! So, fakes? You could say! A scam! Maybe? What ever you want to call them? My understanding is this. They are using a loop hole in the copyright law (as Brembo DONT make discs or pads!) They outsource that manufacturing to other companies who use their logo...

So, to sum up. As these red boxed BREMBO logo’d discs & pads are of unknown origin, of VERY poor quality both in terms of stopping ability and feel i would avoid them like a bad dose!!!

Brakes are NOT for skimping on folks! Thumbs Up
