My 2012 Westminster is currently with a main Land Rover dealer, I have confidence in their work and the car is still just under LR Approved Used warranty. They have spotted an oil leak and want to remove the front diff to find it. As this isn’t yet a warranty claim they want my authority as normal to bear the cost in the event of no warrantable fault being found. It’s already had a turbo back at the start of the year due to an oil leak and two years ago had the mod for oil feed somewhere after limp mode appeared.
The question is what could be above the diff that can’t be seen, and could anything leaking oil of reasonable quantities be considered as not a warranty job? I don’t really want to pay that rate to remove the diff and discover I really am paying!
