I get this too... I once had leaf backing up the channel the tailgate hinges on. Clearing that helped. Other place of course that you can get water is from a leaking rear wash wipe as it goes through the centre pin of the wiper arm and backs up in the trim of the upper tailgate.

My old 4.4 (04) didn't have this problem but any rain and my 4.2 SC has torrents of water cascading down the channels either side of the rear window. It doesn't go onto the parcel shelf but I don't understand why on one it was a little dribble, on another it is Niagra. |

I thought this was a design fault.

Out of interest are those of use getting the problem parking on the flat or on a slope?

Thanks guys, my drive is flat so it's not a slope thing. It's good though that it's not just me though, I just need to be really careful opening the boot in future '07 Supercharged in black with drug dealer tinted windows |

Not a slope thing in my experience, you just have to lift it up slowly.

Yes, agreed, I have a flat drive too and it seems the only solution is to open slowly and carefully |

The water that drips into the boot when the tailgate is opened comes from the edge of the glass, it seems to build up at both sides and sits there until you open the tailgate then it pours into the boot.
