I drove both for evaluation purposes and opted for the extra power of the sdv8 when I ordered my AB and am completely satisfied with it. This does not apply to everyone however, you must try both. Agueroooooooooo. 93-20

I had the same dilemma. Fact is, if you're thinking about it, you need to go for the V8. Otherwise you'll be nagged by thoughts of what if...

I'm in the market too and have driven both. Is it me or is the V8 much louder? In fact it is even louder than my current 3.6? That can't be so - is it just the car I drove or are they noticeably noisier? |

For the wife buy the V6, for yourself buy the V8 or you will feel totally inadequate, always wonder what if and suffer from penis envy 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17 |

I drove both back 2 back to make up my mind. The V8 I found had a much better spread of torque and really picked up well once you prodded it, the V6 however was no slouch. I found the V8 had had a noticeable noise intrusion into the cabin during cruise that I did not pick-up on the V6 and that bothered me a little, it's not a bad noise once you step on the gas though. Having owned a 3.6 TDV8 before in the RRS I was convinced I would choose the V8, but for me it just did not stack up and I don't think I will feel short changed with the V6 (it also has a nice growl under load). For some the laziness of the V8 and the ever present noise if part of the character (actually reminds me of my Dad's 3.9 classic), but the V6 makes a lot of sense for people and does not detract from the 'Range Rover-ness' IMHO. |
