I absolutely agree that private sellers are trying to sell at dealer prices therefore get one from a LR dealer and get the proper warranty . |

As your looking at 2013 models you could easily negotiate a two year LR warranty for peace of mind . |

Thanks, I did view that thread. Looks like mid 50s is the bottom of the market at the moment.

Fascinating to read that you consider a 2013 car as "the bottom end" of the market. |

Apologies, I hope my post did not come across as arrogant! It is definitely not bottom of the market - and for me, will be the most expensive car I have ever bought.

As I understand it, it is LR policy that any LR bought from an official LR dealer and that is no older than five years old, a two year LR warranty is included as a matter of course. From what I can gather, vehicles that are given third party or dealer warranties have 'escaped' the LR system at some stage for reasons various. I think I am right in saying that with the latter, a customer can pay for a LR inspection and have the vehicle included into the system again......something I read recently on another post. The amount of £700 comes to mind......ergo, not definite! |

From what I understand residuals are expected to be strong for some time. Both the FFRR and the RRS have been doing well since launch, if you look at the used market for the previous models they have also been buoyed mostly by renewed interest in the brand (IMO). I expect LR will continue to move things on over the next couple of years and I don't see the brand image dipping any time soon. I would say a <£60k Vogue is not a bad place to put your money, you'll lose money for sure, but I doubt it will hemorrhage, for that vehicle I would bank on £5-7k of depreciation per year tailing off a little after 5yrs.

I would only buy from a dealer and get a proper warranty with the car - oh and take a dealer that is located near to you.... |
