I know what you mean Stan, though I think they'd look good. The smaller XTs might be less imposing. For anyone that really wants better throw, they can deliver what no bulb upgrade can.

Oh I don't know Stan. The smaller ones (I believe) are what LR used in their genuine kits and I quite fancy those. The kit is now obsolete sadly, and I never found a kit for 2010 > cars either, but I did like the look of them. Has to be the genuine bumper mounts though, not the hideous 'A' bar. |

^^^^Yes, sort of, but I think you're thinking of the older style. The XTs are OE equipment for the Disco4 and Defender, introduced around 2010, rather than the older style that was offered for the D3 and FFRR, so they would have been offered for the facelift, but presumably LR didn't see the market.

Well I would but the pre-facelift LR brackets won't fit mine. I really don't like the generic brackets so can't see I would ever fit them. |

Actually, possibly. I would love to do something with SWMBO's Jaguar XF. It doesn't have the HID units, just the projectors with halogen for low and reflectors with halogen for high. Both use H7 bulbs I hate aftermarket HID kits, most of which are illegal anyway but I have been considering LEDs. I think the position of the actual LED is critical though to maintain the beam pattern and I really need higher output than the halogen 55w candles. Probably 100w equivalent Any suggestions? |

As far as LEDs in a halogen reflector goes, it's not physically possible to place the LEDs in the perfect position - there are basically two issues, the first is the size of the LED; even the small ones are bigger than a filament, so they cause extra scatter, but what multiplies the problem is that they cannot be placed in on the focal point because they must be mounted on something. You can see the issue below:

Bump. No takers for some bulbs? If anyone is pondering, then best to decide by Sunday to guarentee it would be do-able. Only one more needed for horns. |
