Hi everyone,

As the title says the Sat Nav/Radio/Comp screen has gone blank. Power to the unit and buttons 'do' things and the radio works.

I have tried disconnecting everything in the audio cubby hole cleaning connectors and checking for water ingress, I have had some water in there before and a 'shedder' is fitted. Light and whirring from the Sat Nav so that has power.

I have tried powering up with everything disconnected in the back in the hope I would get some sort of default display on the head unit but nothing,

I have disconnected the battery, done an overnight charge and reconnected with a steering wheel reset but no display. I have also checked the 30A main audio fuse in the glovebox.

So before I take the likely next step and have the head unit out and fit one from a breakers (look to be about £170 on ebay) I wondered if anyone could suggest any further tests?

Mine went like that, it was moisture getting into the sat nav unit. When i took the top off the sat nav unit it was all rusty on the circuit board, had to buy another unit of the bay of fleas.  gone fishin'

Make sure the blue and white connectors on the TVs module are sound if the above doesn't work. If I remember right it's just the blue one. I got one working by easing it up and down whilst live and watching the screen.....

Ok I am just going to update this thread and close it.

I replaced the display unit and guess what - no display - so back to the back of the car.

I removed both the TV module and the Sat-Nav from their mountings so I could see clearly and carefully check the connector sockets and plugs. I cleaned the socket pins and on close inspection pin 1 of the TV tuner socket was corroded through.

Pin 1 & 10 is the TV module power connection (see the following pinout diagram). Power should also come in through 2 & 9 but on dismantling the blue plug it was clear that pins 2 & 9 were not connected so the break on pin 1 meant no power to the TV.

Well done.. cheap fix as well... presuming you can sell the screen you bought..... Pete
