remote keys

Hi folks ,Got a problem with my keys. Went out to open my 2004 322 and the remote function has stopped working. Not done anything different to normal when parking it up the night before. Also the spare key doesn't work either. Tried a new battery in the key but no different. The car starts and runs as normal. Many thanks.

Many thanks for the speedy response but unfortunately after 30 or 40 attempts it still remains un-functional. I even tried disconnecting the battery for a couple of mins but to no avail. Could it be a unit gone down somewhere in the boot as there seems to be plenty to choose from.

You need a much longer battery disconnection than a couple of mins sir... You need either a couple of hours/overnight or look in the wiki (top right of this page) for a “hard battery reset process”

Thumbs Up

Also noticed that the doors don't lock when I drive off anymore. Tried the fuses in the boot but they're all fine. Slowly losing the will.

Sounds like a problem with the locks rather than the remote then - at least you're narrowing it down.

Did you also check the fuses behind the glove box ?

Is there a locking module and if so where about is it located. I have checked the fuse in the boot and it is fine.

What about the fuses behind the glovebox? Are there any there that are relevant?
