United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 Santorini Black

One piece of advice that sounds crazy, but is true - never let someone sit in your car after a crash in their own.

There have been numerous cases where they subsequently feel back / neck pain, then the emergency services arrive and decide the only safe thing to do is to chop the roof of a perfectly good car, that wasn't involved, just to remove the victim safely.

Think I'm joking - some examples here Shocked

Mmmh! Lots to think about on arriving at an accident scene. I'm sure the Porsche driver today will think perhaps £800-1200 on winters tyres would be a good investment on a £30-40k vehicle. It's reinforced my argument to my Wife why I put so much store in having the best tyres for the time of the year irrespective of cost.
Thanks for everyone's thoughts on this subject now I'd better get something better on the Evoque wheels.
Paul Journey started in a LR2B at 16 and has incl. just about every Land Rover, Disco, RRS and Range Rover Vehicle owned or driven, I even worked for the company when it was owned by BAe - It must be a madness!!! because to add to my 4.4 TDV8 Westminister In Baltic Blue I bought a second L322 as a commuter bus, TD6 2004 Vogue in Oslo Blue with cream leather now both gone replaced with what could turn out to be my biggest mistake. They were lucky you were there and I agree winters definitely assist in cold weather I have run them for last 7 years I started using them as we needed them in France but am sold even my wife dog carrier an Alfa 156 sport wagon has goodyear ug on
I checked mine and they have between 3 and 4 mm per tyre so ok for this journey and being replaced next sat with Pirelli winters Mr. Green

This is good advice in many respects, but I am still grateful to the couple in a Nissan Cherry that gave me a lift to a police station after I had just written off my Suzuki GSXR 1100 motorcycle in 1987. Sadly there was grease on the back of my leathers and this got on to the car seat, but I wiped it off as best I could and that was the only downside for them. Only Range Rovers since 1988

Alistair, this ALMOST happened to me a few years ago!

A lady ran off the road coming towards me and landed her in her Porsche Cheyenne in a drainage ditch to my O.S... I stopped hazards Fogs ETC ETC and she had hit a tree with her pass side roof almost crushing it into the pass seat Shocked

She was a little bruised and VERY scared so i sat with her holding her hand as the doors would NOT open due to being wedged in a V shaped ditch! Her health started to deteriorate after around 20 mins and soon after the police & ambulance arrived! By this time she was complaining of neck & back pain and was being sick! (not a good sign apparently) so they immobilised her completely and took the roof off!

The Police man said, “they 100% would have cut the roof off your very nice looking RR if she had been sat in it” as it took 20 mins+ for the adrenaline in her body to subside allowing her to feel her true pain!

Scary thought really!

AND the kicker was! Most insurance companies WONT pay out as YOU the policy holder invited the casualty in! Shocked Shocked Shocked

That's why the FF has a nice big boot and fold out bottom. They can sit on that with a blanket around them until a professional is on the scene for mine as with the engine running and vents at full it will keep some warm air going onto them at least. I've seen far too many with chopped tops in Twitter feeds over the last few years to even risk it. Selfish yes but also if they are on the boot shelf and they start having pains and need to be gotten out they can be got out of there quicker than having to be covered up and a roof taken off. They can even lie down if they wish and have the top window closed to keep more heat in FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
