United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Vogue SE Supercharged Java Black
How to identify the navigation disk year

Hi,

How can I identify my navigation dvd year, I ejected the disk, but I could not see a date printed on the disk label (it is an original). So is there a way to read the date from the touch screen display, I had a poke around the menus but could not see anything obvious?

Assuming my disk turns out to be the original that came with the car (2006), will a new disk update the firmware, if so will I see any differences / new features on the display?

Many thanks,

Justin

I have a 2004 car, the DVD disc itself is marked (c) 2004 Denso and (c) 1993-2004 Navteq. I suspect you can infer the date from this copyright notice. Maybe others more knowledgeable than I can tell you from the part number on the DVD. In any case, I think it would be worthwhile upgrading to the latest disc.

Forgot to add, if you upgrade to a later disc, yes it will update the nav firmware automatically. I did so, and it enabled destination entry on the move, which was not available on my original 2004 disc. Thumbs Up

incorrect.... destination on the move is dis-enabled if you upgrade to the 2009/2010 map disc/firmware...but, you can have it enabled at a dealer... ... - .- -.

Agreed. I lost that hack after the upgrade.

Embarassed Sorry, my mistake, you can't select new destinations on the move, only previous destinations and memory points.

The date of my disk is 2005, which I guess was the most up to date disk when my car was new (2006), so it needs replacing.

Is there anywhere cheaper than Land Rover to obtain a replacement?
