possibly one of the intake tubes on top of the engine has split. apparently a reasonably common problem a bit like the turbo hoses on the 3.6. there is an updated part available to replace it with. Lift the cover and have a look, it just lifts up There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

If not an intake pipe the 4.4 does suffer with an oil leak issue from a pipe on the rear of the EGR! Spreads engine oil all down the back of the engine/bell housing which can get on the exhaust and smoke! |

Not easy no. Involves stripping lots off the top of the engine to get to it... I would check the intake pipes first, then if not them? Put the car on a ramp and see if there is lots of oil over the back of the engine first... |
