Glove Box Latch

Thought this might be useful to some.

I have just installed the Trioma USB/Aux/Bluetooth interface (write up to follow)

When doing so it was necessary to take out the glove box. I am sure I am not the first one for it to happen but in removing the box the cable from the catch sprang off and the small spring did what small springs do when freed. It came out.

I fiddled for ages to try and get it back into place but it proved impossible. The spring is necessary to ensure that the lock resets when closing the glove box.

In the end I wound the spring onto the control cable and it works perfectly. Even better than original IMO as, if you have to take the glove box out, you can just release the cable without drama.

I have seen the odd post where people have been asking for a replacement latch and I thought this might be of help to someone.

Clever! Bow down
I look forward to reading the write-up ... as you know I'm pondering doing the USB/Aux mod myself.
It partly depends on how difficult it looks! Mr. Green It's "bébéchoon", ackcherly, with accents. 'Steve' to my chums.
20 years ownership of Solihull products, ALL GONE NOW, sniff!
Current motor: Suzuki S-Cross 4WD auto, 1.4 petrol. Oh so reliable! 7 years now and no problems. Oh, all right then, a leaking shocker replaced under guarantee.

Yes, Stan. But it comes from Germany. Umno-Tech have obviously got the rights for it from Russia. The instruction booklets that come with it are in Russian but there is sufficient info in English on the website.

I will do a write up on a separate thread with, hopefully, clearer instructions and some comments. Just need a little time to sort out the photos etc.

It does work - USB, Aux and Bluetooth streaming. I have the LR Bluetooth in my FF and I can connect my phone (Samsung Galaxy) to the LR Bluetooth with phone book etc and at the same time stream music from my phone via the interface Bluetooth as an alternative to USB or Aux. John
