What will a ffrr carry in its rear?

I have 50 bags of hardcore that I need to transport a short distance. They weigh 20Kg each. How many can I put in the back without causing damage or overloading?

I weigh 100kg and would be happy with 3 of me in the back plus another 200kg in the boot

Maybe 3 trips if you're a wuss Whistle

Going by the brochure I have the TD6 has a gross vehicle weight of 3,050kg and weighs 2,570kg, so it is rated to carry 480kg. Deduct your weight from 480kg, divide by 20 and then see if the number of bags produced by that calculation will fit. The tyres will need to be at a higher pressure, per chart on driver's door frame if the car is fully loaded.

If you have a towbar the best thing would probably be to borrow or hire a trailer, which would be easier, quicker and cleaner and should be less effort to load/unload too. Only Range Rovers since 1988

As above, cheap trailer and job done.

You could push the limit by not having a full tank of fuel, each 1/4 of a tank you drop is another bag of hardcore.

If it's 10miles or less on quiet roads you could get away with 2 trips but would be pushing it to the limit. Also don't forget it's not just weight but size.
The boot floor is something to consider as well, the spare wheel cover isn't the strongest thing in the world so maybe worth some plywood on top to protect carpet and floor. FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Are you buying or removing the hardcore?

If you are buying it why not just get it from a merchant and get it delivered?

If you are getting rid get a yellow skip bag from a merchant and put it in there then call the number on the bag and someone will collect Thumbs Up There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I certainly will not be stacking mine with hardcore.The craziest overload I saw was when my brother put a Jcb engine in the back of his Fiesta and drove it back from Bradford,the car was scraping the floor !!

fold the rear seats double, and use a decent few old sheets, get the load over the axle, and up against the seats. this will greatly help the load to be spread. it will be safer too in an emergency. a bit extra work, will save you a trip or two. i have had engines, concrete, 6 dustbins half full of earth etc. huge sawn 2ft wide logs, all sorts. currently i have a jag mk2 iron block 6 pot engine in the boot area, its fine. ie seats down. my suspension works perfect too.
it would be wise to avoid the speedbumps routes though.

Worst that can happen is the air pump or a pipe or bag gives way with the required higher pressures to keep it at height.

I've had just a smidge under 3m' of wood in the back of my XM and dont get me wrong it was slower than normal for braking and accelerating but the beauty of hydro is that the ride gets more supple with more weight on it Very Happy FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Just be careful and think about it - Is 1 extra journey really that bad (depends on the distance)

I loaded my first FF up at tops tiles once. enough tiles do do the whole bathroom, loads of tile cement and grout plus boards for the floor - Didn't seem to take up too much room but took ages to pump up and level. I think I wore the compressor out with it continuously pumping and from that day onwards was really lazy to inflate.

Lesson learnt though..... Ash
