You quoted a PM that was not yours. I though Private Messages were Private that's all?

If you cannot answer I will ask Martin. Shocked

Guys, I think this is just going around in (black) circles now.

Hopefully everyone is a bit more educated about "winter tyre" definitions and markings, and where something is critical in a purchase being really clear about it.

I think most of us can relate to being disappointed to receive something different to what we expected and the frustration that can cause.

Craig did offer to take them back, which was not taken up due to the courier cost, but it was offered.

As we also all know, insurance companies can do or impose whatever they like Shocked

Just to clarify, as it's come up again, Stan and I cannot read anyone else's PMs but our own. And by that I don't mean Stan can read mine or vice versa. It's not that we do not, we cannot - the function is not there.

@frank, why would you loose your insurance cover if the tyres are legal?

Cause it is up to them to decide judge whether they pay or not if i drive with f***** summers tyres in heavy winter Wink

To make it easy for - i don't take that risk not now not in the past and not in the future ! All my spelling errorz are belong to me!

Just to be claer here:

FRank bought his car with a great set of Wheels & M&S tyres on it and posted it on the forum.

He then asked Craig if he could buy his wheels with WINTER tyres for Winter use in the Winter in Germany.

He was supplied with a set of wheels/Tyres identical to those he already had fitted to the car!!!!! (Conti M&S)

WHY WOULD HE WANT/BUY the same Tyres as he already had on the newr car when he bought it just days ago!

The insurance company can impose (make up) their own requirements. They could refuse insurance if you didn't have a man with a red flag walking in front if they wanted to.

They wouldn't get a lot of business in this case but I would imagine German insurance companies are keen to avoid payouts so I can see why they would impose a 3PMSF tyre requirement.

Hindsight is wonderful.

Frank said prefer Winter Contis - not WINTER for Winter in Winter

Prefer does not mean need

It wasn't clear what tyres were on the car - could have had no tread left for all anyone knew

At no point did Craig claim they were Winter tyres

If you look at it objectively - it was a clear misunderstanding - let's not all take sides & fall out Thumbs Up
