United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Zermatt Silver
ride height 30 mm lower at the back

Ride height is approx. 30 mm lower at the back on level ground in normal and raised setting . Is there a re calibrate method without a tool or is it best I just get my indy to fit 2 new sensors as they are cheap and reset using his equipment .

compressor shuts off about 30 seconds quick after raising

30mm lower than "normal" for the rears, or lower than the "front" ?

Standard setting is 10mm lower at the rear than at the front, could be previous owner had them lowered?

You will need a diagnostic tool to calibrate heights, your indie should be able to do this, save just buying new sensors (still might be needed but i would try resetting heights frist) .

thanks joe, I used your chart to measure mine. My rears are 30mm lower than my fronts , should only be 10mm , so 20mm out , it can be seen visually as well which is what made me get out the tape measure. I did measure then when I first got fatty and they were just 10mm lower at the back , which is spot on acc to your table

any point in taking them off and lube/clean and refit ?

Certainly worth having a look to see what state they are in Thumbs Up

Don't know if they improved the design on later models but the rubber surrounds on the sensor mountings to the lower wishbone perish and disintegrate on the earlier ones. When I took mine off the rubber fell apart! Some adept use of duct tape has held them in place (the rubbers) without fault for a few years since.

So have a good look and poke about before removing, if all "seems" intact at least you have been warned of what could happen Smile .

Took it down to Landranger services in stockport. They put it on their automate and confirmed everything was ok but need a calibration, booked back in as it can take an hour or so to complete.

took it in today and after much up and down behaviour and tape measure checking they got the car to within 5mm . very happy with their knowledge and the price was only £50 . they have a very good LR parts dept so looks like ive found somewhere local that appears to be trustworthy and a good resource

I'm interested if your saggy back end was a result of a tiny leak in rear bags, sensors or a previous setting?

Getting within 5mm is ok for me and I'd be happy if it sits like that without further sinking, but I think mine has a sensor issue. If I leave it for 2 days or more without moving it I notice the rear will drop equally side to side, not just one corner - this makes me think it's not a bag.

What fettling did the boys at L'ranger do. Pal of mine, his lad works there. Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

I have my rear end set 10mm up, otherwise it looks like the car is always falling backwards. As it is now, it seems to sit properly. .

they gave my air suspension a check over read the volts from the sensors ect and were happy it was just a calibration issue..its been 30 mm lower since I got it 10 months ago, whatever height I set it at its always the same amount out.

Joe, ive actually got them to set it the same height on the back as at the front and not the usual 10 mm lower , looks better.

What i mean is you need to measure all 4 corners and work out where they are in relation to where they should be.

Remove the 20A suspension system fuse to prevent (downwards) levelling whilst parked. You will then know whether the leak is one side bag or air-line or the valve block if both sides.

as ive said, I checked the dimensions against Joes chart , definitely the back was out , its all spot on now
