I think that it was actually W O Bentley himself, although in fairness it was most likely when he was working for Rolls Royce. He was a sensible chap, more power sir, we'll make the engine bigger He was opposed to the superchargers that Sir Henry "Tim" Birkin bolted on. Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!
