Proper bhp!

I bumped into a ,JLR tech guy out shopping on the car park yesterday and he was admiring the car and said he was in development there and said that the new svr can handle 750 to 800 bhp 😵 So I said build a few fun as tests as some will buy them but I bet they won't Crying or Very sad _____________________________________________________

Yup, they won't. Why would they anyway?

They already make the RRS SVR which is one helluva tool. But the FFRR is not suited image wise to being a hooray henry hooligan. If JLR did decide to produce such a car it might have an undesired effect among the existing FFRR customers.

Somehow I just can't see where it would fit in with the target audience of the Full-Fat. There already is the S/C version for those who prefer petrol and it has an "adequate" amount of power. The diesel is there too with a similarly adequate set of performance figures. And since a Gentleman would never bother with figures as long as the drive was a good experience, who would this be aimed at?

Probably best left to the aftermarket to do that kind of malarkey. Besides, it still won't go round corners any better Laughing Thumbs Up

Was it Bentley or Rolls that used "adequate" to describe their 0 - 60 times whenever they were asked. 2017 5.0 Autobiography Supercharged

Re: Proper bhp!

I was told something very similar when we went along to the launch of the L494 RRS

The engine was capable of "around" 750bhp

I do wonder if the first release will be restricted in power, with newer versions bringing extra power to entice those to change. Or is that the cynic in me showing? Whistle

I think that it was actually W O Bentley himself, although in fairness it was most likely when he was working for Rolls Royce. He was a sensible chap, more power sir, we'll make the engine bigger Thumbs Up He was opposed to the superchargers that Sir Henry "Tim" Birkin bolted on. Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer...
