I know Paul was busy etc but here is a couple of pics of the livery on the bonnet, it clearly reads royal artillery but the rest is i presume latin?

It's actually Royal Horse Artillery or RHA for short. More than likely it would have been used as a Recruiting Vehicle driving the guys around the country.

Thanks very much piecost 76, very informative. Geek mode appreciated! It was first registered in England in 2010 but says in the special notes was registered and or used, declared manufactured 2002. Anybody know if that could mean it was stationed abroad or just first registered for civilian use after it's time in the uk with the RHA?

All RHA units are now in UK so probably it was on a military Reg & then registered as a Civvy in 2010. Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?

Hi Mark, just got home and seen this post. Glad you are happy with it and your kids like it . Still not convinced i have sold the right car as my rangie is acting up now
