Servicing kit BMW 4.4 V8 petrol

Getting on towards 178,000 miles and getting a comprehensive service done. (Car is 2004 BMW V8 Petrol/LPG and running fine at the moment)

Is this kit worth it?

http://www.lrparts.net/full-service-kit-us...ation.html

Also, getting the front and rear diffs looked at. Opie oils still the best for replacement fluid?

Will the plugs need changing?

Any other things need looking at that i may have missed?

Many thx
DB

Frankly the service kit does not really specifically mention which exact parts, makes and part numbers it covers

The image is only for illustrative purposes only.

I guess for things like pollen filter it is not too critical but for things like Oil Filter I would probably want OEM / LR

As for plugs - well I have just gone through a 2 day saga changing mine - but I can say the engine feels like new and is wonderfully smooth - I thought it was fine before and didn't expect such an improvement.

I used the NGK BKR 6EQUP (4 electrode) but manual mentions this and another one with 2 electrodes NGK BKR 6EK - the latter is cheaper and I guess only has 2 electrodes to wear away so probably lasts less time. Howard

For plugs I use these:

http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-64069-ngk-spar...-1496.aspx

Not cheap but when you get 260 miles from 44 litres of LPG, you know the engine is working well and the spark is doing its job. Before I changed the plugs I was getting 240 miles from 65 litres.

Clearly there will be a difference in terrain on the two examples above as it was not the same like for like route but in any event I was pleased. I also use these LPG plugs in my daily and get 575miles on 67 litres and before I changed the plugs to LPG ones I was getting 450 miles.

Also the condition of your LPG installation and how 'tuned' it is will make a difference. I have a Prins VSi on the RR and a BRC Plug and Drive on the daily.

I hope this helps?

regards

John
