Mirror lamp LED's

Hi all,

I've read numerous posts about LED upgrades and have already done most of the interior lights. I changed the drivers side mirror Light but ran out of bulbs so didn't do the passenger side. Everything was working fine and today I changed the remaining lights including the passenger mirror.

Now though the mirror lights don't work properly. When I unlock they flash but go off immediately. I've tried different bulbs to no avail. Has anyone else had this problem and if so did you get around it?

Thanks in advance Very Happy

I tried a host of bulbs in my puddle lights (in the mirror) and didn't find a single one that worked well...same with reverse...and as such I have every other bulb in the car as an LED except the puddles and reverse Thumbs Up Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

Thanks.

I decided to swap the passenger side back to a normal bulb and it still only flashed. I changed it for another and now they are working ok so I'll have to live with one normal bulb Wink

I rewired my mirrors to the puddle lights in the lower door panels... They then worked every time i opened the door rather then timing out! & secondly no more bulb issues Whistle Thumbs Up

I changed my bulbs to LED ones yesterday, they only had 3w ones but the difference is huge my puddle lights now light up the most of the side of the car ,You have to force them in a bit but doesn't affect the bulb holder and there doesn't seem to be any right/wrong way to do it

i think i have found a solution for leds not working in the mirror lights..

i fitted one led in the drivers mirror and it worked perfect...then when i fitted the passenger side both the leds would flash and then go out..

solution is to wire in one of the old bulbs in parallel with one of the leds ...this seems to fool the system [resistance?] and makes both the leds work...

on the old bulb you can bend the connection wires out and solder a short piece of cable onto them and then splice onto the mirror cable.. ... - .- -.
