Basically, if you like them... Keep them! If you think they are silly, daft looking, impractical etc etc then bin them and go for factory 18s sir

just that the buyers guide says possible issue cornerig and kerb scuff.. although i dont intent kernbing it. You had any issues?

Lower profile tyres will always give a harsher ride than taller ones. There is less tyre there to protect the rim from pot hole damage and the available tyres are normally road orientated only, so they're generally not as good in mud, snow, etc.

Craig appears to have some genuine 22 land rover wheels. (from a very late model range rover). many range rovers are often jazzed up with some aftermarket 22 inch wheels and tyres. these aren't (in my opinion ) as strong as LR ones, and you often see them repaired, (alloy welded) as the inside edges fracture under potholes etc. I had some and that's what happened. I put some LR original 20 inch wheels on and the steering was easier, the car drove better, and they are still perfect. Early cars had 18 or 19 inch wheels. mid period cars had 19 or 20 inch. new model, I think has 21 and poss 22 inch. Some like the tyre sidewall ratio to their taste. some don't, and might like supersized wheels. the (aftermarket) 22's are often a tad wider, and are definitely harder to manoeuvre when parking (in my opinion) some people also mistake RR sport wheels as being the same, they are not, (not quite)

FYI, the 02-05 TD6 only came with 18 wheels and 06my-07my TD6 came with a 19 option! The early cars had an issue with resonance vibration caused by larger wheels hence the larger wheels were only offered on petrol cars sir So, in essence... There was never a factory 20 wheel option for a TD6 20 factory options were only available on TDV8s If your TD6 has orange indicators, it would only ever have come from the factory with18 wheels. If your TD6 has clear indicators, it would have come with either 18 or 19 wheels. |

My 2003 had 18s when I bought it. Ride was brilliant. Gone to factory 19s now and I think they look better. As Craig says, only 18s available for td6 in the early days, as driveshaft goes through engine sump and vibrations pass through to steering wheel when tyre sidewalks are less, particularly when holding on brake and in D.

Yea, it's only td6 specific. Not noticed any major change with my 19s though. When you get it to vibrate up the steering, it does seem to feed itself, as it were. I don't sit in D when I'm stationary, so never have an issue. There has been a thread previously about the rights and wrongs of holding on the brake in D. Hope this thread stays on topic.

I've been chipping away at my RR Vogue 2004 to a point its almost a twin of my 2012 Westminster. Last weekend my self sprayed Oslo blue side vents went on and my recent purchase of 20" Range Rover embossed autobiography 2010/2012 wheels. the ride is far smoother than on my 19" wheels and I do take it out of drive when sitting at traffic lights due to vibration as mentioned in this thread but then my 19" wheels also gave the same vibration. My opinion only but it looks the business. The wheels are on Pirelli scorpion which have a better road feel than the C**pinentals fitted to the Westminster. Just need to get my Vredestein Wintrac 4s off Porsche cayenne wheels and onto my RR 19" six spokes and I'm there!
