Nobody mentioned poor. Assumptions can be fraught. Noted also: "... 6 years..., I never got caught..." Last edited by pld118 on 30th Aug 2015 2:25am. Edited 1 time in total |

Agreed, but we've all done it at some point. Good observation and driving to the road and traffic conditions are the best course. I notice you deleted the bit where i mentioned 'multidrop courier work' A lot of pressure to get all the deliveries done in the time allowed in that - still never got caught by a speed trap or even had to brake to avoid one - without any electronic device to warn me of them. Camera vans, police and fixed cameras are all very obvious. |

This thread ran on a bit more than I intended as I was just sharing my positive experience with my local councils MOT centre. I have to say that the experience I have had at dealers has always had me worried that a fault, which gives them work, is not genuine and yes I know I can appeal but lifes too short. So if the council had failed the car I guess in a perverse way I would have been pleased as they would have discovered a genuine fault.

You can also use other marques franchised dealers if they do their own testing. You still get the valeting and collection/delivery, but as it's not their marque they're less interested in doing actual work on it. |

Poor assumption again. For me to want to get away with speeding I need to be speeding. As I said it's purely that I like to have an audible warning for speed cameras. |

Not really, if you're not speeding you don't need a warning for speed cameras.

I thought speed cameras were only fitted at accident black spots, so a detector would warn you of a dangerous bit of road, irrespective of the speed.
