How happy are you with your 2011 TDV8?

Hi, hope this is OK, looking at a TDV8 again, 4.4 this time. Read plenty on it but wondered if I could ask if any owners would give a quick click to the pole, interested to see how they are rated by their owners. Shocked 2011 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 TDV8

A couple of silly issues with mine.
A temperature probe in the manifold (which created an EGR issue) sorted by MD for £120
Front shocker wire broke at 21k miles Rolling Eyes fixed by me in under an hour!
an engine oil leak. 2 hours and a 20p seal (pipe the other end of the EGR unit from the oil filter) common issue... Rolling Eyes

Been about as reliable as my other 2yr old FF’s I’ve owned in the past... That said, i did look at a good few before buying this one and there are plenty of more troublesome ones around than mine... Whistle Rolling Eyes Whistle

I put for minor issues, I have had 4 x new starter motors. (A common fault) and an intercooler pipe split. A modification to the air con pipes seems to have helped to cure the problems with the starter motor,

Apart from that it has been a great car.

I will be sorry to see it go.

Forgot about the intercooler pipe i replaced too Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed

My list above obviously does NOT include what the original owner had carried out! My car was owned by a long term well respected client of LR (been a repeat new car customer for many many years) so, he had every modification/update done by his MD at service dates without asking (is my understanding) meaning, this car has had everything thrown at it by the JLR dealer network to keep a “good customer” sweet!

Well worth bearing in mind whilst searching!

Mine is a 2011MY but is the 4.4.

Ex LR vehicle.

Water leaks into rear compartment.

Front shocker wiring broken on both sides.

Trim on tailgate window rusting, replaced.

Went into limp mode, sensor changed but it took them a week to find it.

Air con leaked, pipe replaced.

New starter motor.

New front brake pipes.

All fixed under warranty, superb vehicle.

Ian

Fixed - rear and side window trim corrosion; hesitation (software reflash); starter motor; foam filler block in door shut (twice).

Not fixed (and not likely to be, now out of warranty) - regular and infuriating low battery warning.

I get frequent low battery warnings on my Mini Cooper S. Apparently, it's because I don't drive it enough. It does lots of short journeys with SWMBO. Never had it on the RR or RRS, but only do longer journeys in those cars.

Hi,

on my 2012 Vogue model:

Trim on tailgate window rusting, replaced

Light in sunvisor not working, fixed thanks to Craig

Water in side repeater, replaced

Front passenger side tyre shows more wear than others.

Nothing major, really.

such a smooth ride and comfort is one step up 3.6L TDV8, and I won't even compare it to 3.0L Straight 6 ones I have both owned.

fuel economy is great too Wink l=Oo\________/oO=l l:OolΞΞΞΞΞΞΞloO:l

I have only had my car for 6 weeks, and after my TD6 it is a revelation. Lots of power, smooth, quiet. Nothing has gone wrong so far, but talking to the previous owner, he had to have the turbos replaced under warranty. and had an electrical problem with the suspension sorted. 2011 Vogue TDV8 4.4

I've been thinking about upgrading to one of these but my 2002 4.4 petrol still keeping running sweetly. Seems like there have been quite a few problems so maybe I'll run my V8 into the ground before I change.

I'm in a similar place with my 2002 V8...but took the plunge and put it on ebay now so looks like a 3.6 or 4.4 TDv8 will be (hopefully) imminent

Had. 4 rr over last 30years. Started with 2.5vm diesel so , then 2.5td P38, just traded up from Td6 Vogue.I have kept each one until 100k miles or 9years. Just hoping to do same, but not happy just spotted first signs of corrosion on upper tailgate bottom right corner. Anyone made corrosion warranty claim?
