I definitely think they would be worth more. How much, I don't know. I almost think I'd prefer a fake G4 with the great colour and kit, but without the abuse (unless it was one from the cancelled G4).

To be fair most L322 Range Rover were not abused really and came back from OZ with under 2000 miles on the clock, may they be of gravel road, it is not that much.

A 'fake' would be nice if you'd want to abuse it (but by then you might just buy a Defender if you are an hardcode off roader), but a genuine thing is fantastic if you like L322 and the Land Rover Heritage. Thumbs Up

I'd like a 'Silkway' (From Solihull To Mumbai) Prototype L405 hybrid on the side for that matter, they have a few nice upgrades I had the chance to witness in the flesh.

Thanks, very disco. I Bow down to your knowledge on the G4s. I didn't know what the Range Rovers did. I'm just remembering some Camel trophy footage I once saw (Disco or Defender) in a water crossing so deep a shoe floated up and through the steering wheel. Had someone done that with a Ffrr, I would not want to be the next owner.
Agreed, the G4 cars are very cool. If I ever get the Multicar dream garage, I put one in there. Thumbs Up

First dibs! Plus they only made 3, one is at Gaydon and is still being used by top staff/ LR Experience Staff, one is in India as planned originally and one has been put in bits for assessment of the whole hybrid running gear.

That said I took very detailed picture of Prototype 1 for when time comes to prepare a replica or restore it in a decade or two...

Speaking as the first private owner of VeryDisco's G4 they were an odd vehicle financially and still are. BT52CNE was purchased for Royal Ascot Garage, Berkshire in 2003. I paid £27,000 for the car, with 1,700 miles on the odometer. I only bought it because it was orange! I found out about its 'previous G4' life after I had bought it. I then spent 18 moths returning it to as near G4 specification as possible. I sold the car in November 2005 for £35,000. Like I say the G4 is worth whatever the buyer is prepared to pay! I know BT52 is in good hands now . . . . . . Wink --RiDDO

Ha ha Haylands. There are plenty of others out there who did the same thing. I got strong money for mine back in 2005 because there were like the proverbial 'hens teeth'. --RiDDO

for info, the most recent ex-event G4 L322 just sold for way above similar specs L322 and did not even had time to be advertised in the club or online. It sold between enthusiasts within a week all in.

There are more and more enthusiats and a very limited amount of G4 L322.

That said, Haylands' version is more efficient off road than a G4 (in fact it is brillant!), but G4 was not all about off roading. Thumbs Up l=Oo\________/oO=l l:OolΞΞΞΞΞΞΞloO:l
