Anybody heard of a 2006(56) LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER 4.3 VOGUE LSE

Seen one advertised but I thought they were long gone?

The LSE designation hasn't been around since the last air-sprung P38 wheelbased Classic's. They were a 3.9 EFI bored out to 4.2 but not sure if the displacement was closer to 4.3?

Think the person advertising has their wires crossed?

yes James, the engine was nearly 4.3 - most other makers would have called it 4.3 - not LR though - they wanted a bit more disparity between a Classic 4.2 and the new model 4.6 P38 at Launch so they undervalued the 4.3 by calling it 4.2.

Just like LR classed the 4.0i as a 3.9i in the Classic (3950cc), but shoved the same engine in the P38, cross bolted it and called it a 4.0

JE had a lot to do with developing these old Rover V8's

The LSE was introduced in 1992 on the Classic model and the engine was indeed the 3.9 litre unit on early cars but then taken out to 4275cc on the later vehicles. Not the best of engines as it was reaching its outer limits and was prone to slipped liners and HGF.

ECAS (Electronically Controlled Air Susupension) was also introduced on this model and has been part of Range Rovers ever since.

The original LSE was the hard dash model, then the soft dash and it was continued onto the P38
