Ouch!

Confused Shocked Shocked Censored

Good morning,

Thank you for the pictures they were a great help.

I have listed below the prices for the complete assembly which includes the towbar, armature, electrics and labour cost:

Removable towbar - £1650.37 inc vat Sniggering

Multi height towbar - £1579.88 inc vat. Sniggering

These parts are not Westfalia but genuine Land Rover products as we are a Land Rover main dealer.

If you would like to go ahead and arrange this please do let me know and I can organise a date for you to bring your vehicle in for this work to be carried out.

Kind regards,

Parts Advisor

which are made by Westfalia and will even have westfalia stickers on them! Laughing

Have them order them, then when they get them in reject them because they have Westfalia on them. Razz

Total Censored take......

Get a local fitter to put it on and source the parts from PFjones, mucho cheaper, and exactly the same!

Order westfalia, it is EXACTLY THE SAME as the LR one, even the type approval plate on the LR one is the same as the westfalia with a westfalia logo.

And afaik the detachable neck and receiver part of the job was on offer last time I looked! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

If JLR made towbars, which they don't, then this is how they would price them. I got a Westfalia from PF Jones and it is identical to what JLR fit, even down to the stickers. The only thing that maybe Land Rover specific is the armature bung, which I bought off Dan for a few quid and the towball cover which I don't use anyway.

Westfalia make more than the tow bars, have a nose around under the car, all the sub frames that hold your wheels on will sport Westfalia stickers too.

P F Jones is the best place to get the tow bar from, you will save thousands, literally Thumbs Up Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

Well I can get a Genuine Multi height drop bar for £95.90 inc. vat. so if you want to pay £1579.88 inc vat fitted, I'll drive to you Thumbs Up

How can they justify £1483.98 inc.vat labour to fit the drop bar, which is a 10 second job, I think that they are extracting the yellow stuff. Still there are people out there that would pay that, more fool them, I say Mr. Green Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

I was lucky and had the armature fitted by LR on mine. But I got the rest (swan neck and electrics) from PF Jones. It even had the LR badges in the cubby storage box. All westfalia which is original LR stuff.

Got mine off pf jones eBay site. A couple of quid more than their own website but got nectar points too.

I'm sure that the link is the armature and the swan neck. Electrics are £80-130 extra. mine were plug and play straight into the existing loom. very easy.

One has to ask if the multi height is £1579.88, has anyone been brave enough to get a price for a fitted swan neck Wink Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

it's ideally a two person job, i did mine with a mate to help remove and refit the bumper, wasn't especially difficult.

I assume "Removable" is the swan neck one.

As has already been said - PF Jones, then find someone to fit - it;s the same hardware Thumbs Up

Both the multi height and the swan neck are removable, only the swan neck you leave half of it in the receiver, which makes it a lot lighter. You might walk away if you were to drop the removable part of the swan neck on your foot, do that with the multi height and it's a one way ticket to A&E Shocked (30 KG ish Shocked ) Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer...
