Quick iid tool question.

I'm going to use mine for the first time tomorrow. The instructions state put the car in park and ensure the parking brake is not engaged. Am I correct in assuming that the parking brake is what I call the handbrake?

Yes....

Take note of all the faults stored, then clear them, then go for a drive and check again... it will surprise you how many old faults are left in the system.... don't panic, we all have them.... Pete

The IID Tool - a hypochondriac's best friend

I have also just received my IIDTool (thanks to Dan at Duckworth Landrover for good price and quick delivery). It does look to me like giving a hypochondriac a medical textbook because I am finding faults I didn't know I had. First off when activated I read the stored faults of which there were many, some going back years! The car has only ever been serviced at the main dealer - surely they read and clear faults at each service?
Anyway I cleared the faults and stopped the engine. A while later, I tried reading faults again, and two had recurred (and keep recurring).

IPC Instrument Pack 0128-00 (2E) lost comms with parking brake module
DDM Driver's Door - central locking module circuit short to battery or open cct
AAM - Audio Amplier B1A02-13 and B1A01-13(2F) Speaker 1 and 2 circuit open.

Now these systems seem to be working fine (haven't checked all speakers though) The parking brake works OK and central locking works too.

So what is going on here - how can I run further checks, or should I just forget about it?

I think most of us have the speaker codes all the time with no detriment to the system , parking brake is a comms issue , still works ok - central locking still working , just enjoy driving it IMO

I've used mine today for the first time and hopefully cleared a lot of faults. However I could not understand most of the entries in the CCF. I've looked on the Gap website and although it has some form of list of CCF thingies does anyone know where I can obtain a full list in understandable language of all the possible things (if fitted) that can be changed or altered.
For example what does ' Sat on the move' Yes or No mean?

Probably gives the option to program the sat nav on the move..

not seen a list anywhere, just try them out and see what happens..... Pete

If you don't understand them, you probably don't need to change them, and if you don't need to change them, don't.

It's only if you change/add parts etc. or for a few other enablements (like SNOTM) that the CCF needs to be changed.

GAP filter out the useful/tested CCF options; a typical full version (my as-built) looks like this:

In terms of understanding them, it's best to go on a basis of what you want to achieve at any given time.

Yes, but things could be worse than that. We're talking about the IID here, so I wouldn't be so concerned, but a corrupted CCF casued by my Nanocom was harder to deal with since it was the PCM's copy (D3) that became corrupted. Top marks to GAP for their willingness to help despite it being caused by a different tool...

Also, SNOTM, for instance, would need the whole process re-doing if the CCF option is disabled.

The IID is very trustworthy (I've vowed not to flash with the Nanocom again ), but still, the fewer times you flash an ECU, the better. Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

2008 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Rimini Red

Is it possible to use the tool with more than one Land Rover product? For example, I have a 2003 (53) Range Rover but I have friends who have Discovery 3 and 4, could the one tool be used on all models or is it specific to one model or chassis number?
