Scotland

Took mine into Lloyds Land Rover at Kelso today.

1hr 10 mins later car finished and I was on my way home complete with new hoses. They offered me a valet but I declined.

Very friendly and informative service team who kept me abreast of proceedings.

The only strange bit was I told them I was going out to look at there stock on the forecourt. There was a nice 10 plate Autobiography in silver that I spent some time looking around but not one sales chappy came to talk to me. I then looked at a 62 plate Disco 4 SDV6 HSE right outside one of the sales chaps window but still no takers. Shocked I gave up and went and read a newspaper.

Perhaps I should go in a suit next time but I'm Censored if I'm going to ask the sales team to show me a vehicle!!!!

Stratstone Stockton did mine yesterday , had a jag xf while it was in and came back nicely cleaned , bloke on the service desk said they don't inspect them they just change them as it's quicker to just get on with it ! He also said they are snowed under with multiple recalls on various models at the moment .

Front brake hoses replaced at Lancaster Welwyn yesterday.
Clean bill of health, and they cleaned the car as well.
I generally don't use Main Dealers, but I'd go back here again for similar work without any concerns.

Swollen Nuts Again

Mine was in for the recall today. All carried out without issue at Taggarts, South Glasgow. An Evoque as a courtesy car, which was OK, but feels very small, but very difficult to know where the edges of it are compared to a big square FFRR.

However, the free health check revealed I have swollen nuts - how they know that when i am sitting in my office 10 miles away, i have no idea. Old joke, I know, but has to be made.

They also mentioned the paint work is lightly scratched - not bad for a vehicle that spends most its weekends off the beaten track.

I was expecting much worse from the health check, so pleasantly surprised.

Mine has gone into Stratstone Hainault at 8am today.. Very friendly service, and gave me a nice courtesy car for the day, 64 plate D4.. Very nice car, but not a patch on the Range.. Still, wouldn't say no..

Will update whether they were changed, and whether I notice any difference..

Edit: OK, all done, pipes changed, although fluid only topped up and bled.. Also, swelling wheel nuts changed aswell.. Wasn't too bothered as they needed doing, the tops has all gone through.. Health check clear apart from the wheel nuts, and valeted aswell, even though it's been stormy and wet today..

Brakes feel better, and the steering also feels much lighter Thumbs Up

I'm very taken by the D4 in the day I've spent in it, and I'm very impressed by the car as a package, it was exactly what I expected, but more. It maybe good enough to tempt me away to a Discovery at some point, at least as a business vehicle, but for now, and as a personal vehicle, I'm happy with my Range Very Happy

Just so your all aware, there is a possibility the brake bleed nipples won’t budge! Especially on Brembo callipers!

Just to pre warn forum members Whistle

If it were me, i would expect for JLR to pay for new ones BUT.......

A friend of mine had the recall done yesterday , and mind you they fXXXXd up with the nipples of his 2010 5.0 .

so he 's got NO CAR for his holiday , he was supposed to depart this saturday .........2 weeks in Western Spain ....
They need 10 days to get the replacement for the Brembo's parts ......

So they rented him a ...............................Renegade .........................only car available in a 200 km radius mid august in south of France .

What a pity !!! Jaybear
