Cyprus 2003 Range Rover HSE 4.4 V8 Java Black

I have both a D3 TDV6 and a BMW (early FFRR) 4.4 V8. After adding all the toys and a BAS remap to the D3, which transformed the performance beyond expectation, i definatley then preferred the D3.

It's not really about ultimate performace levels, but with the remapped D3 i have a very comfortable, spacious and a very well equipped vehicle i can throw around and drive like a GTI, that also won't break me at the fuel pumps.

In 99.9 percent of situatons my modded D3 wins out every time, and having tested and experienced the standard TDV8 FFRR, i would happily compete with my D3 .

But if Pete Bell has has a hand, all bets are off Laughing 2003 4.4 HSE

Well I came from a D3 to a FFRR and I have to say:
1. I miss the 7 seats
2. I miss the huge boot.
3. I don't miss all the creaking
4. No I WOULD NOT GO BACK Thumbs Up

And yes, I have tried the D4. Vastly better than the D3 and still nowhere near as good as the FFRR TDV8 I have now.

+1 Thumbs Up

This morning first time I used the remote heat facility Bow down Bow down Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

As a fully fledged member of the land rover fraternity, you can see the t Censored rs driving a RR usually a RRS a mile off they have generally come from driving a BMW.
I sadly have to admit that was once me Embarassed but I've now grown up and see the journey as important as reaching the destination........
I still ride a BMW motorbike Very Happy

Test drive a TDV8 RR Thumbs Up

I agree.
Nothing wrong wiith the Td6 provided you are not the type of person who races around.
Did me very well for two years and I only changed because I got the bug for the TDV8.

TDv6 is actually a Peugeot Citroen Ford engine modified by Land Rover to suit its offroad requirements like Land Rover's version has a different intake (for wading) and lubrication system (to keep lubes going to places that weird offroad angles that Land Rovers can get to without engine seizure) and also only one turbo, the version in a Jaguar or the bigger Peugoets and Citroens has two turbos. In the new 3.0ltr form Land Rover has upped the output of their version by adding a second, sequential turbo so it now has a small turbo and a large turbo - this gives it nearly the same power output and torque as the
3.6 TDv8. IIRC all these versions (even the PSA versions of the engine) are built at the Ford engine plant at Bridgend in Wales, but I may be wrong it could be Dagenham.
The TD6 engine is the BMW straight 6 3.0ltr fitted to numerous BMW models 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

Can't help myself. Whenever I read the title to this thread I think something along the lines of:
Smacked myself on the head with a 12lb hammer - hurts like hell.

Well my karma is restored I have today placed a deposit on an 07 TDV8 Vogue 36,000 miles westminster blue with sand interior. It all happened so quickly I cannot be totally sure of the spec but I know I have vented seats, tow pack, side steps SC grills, and may be remote heating TBC. I know I should know more but I had literally 30 mins to spare to go and look and to be honest it ticked all my boxes bar privacy glass which you cant win em all. Pics and full specs to follow but have that cannot wait feeling.........always a good sign !!

Oh and for those of you interested the Disco got no better but is still a great car in the snow !!
