air line from a compressor also works well, you can use the air duster to dry out the engine bay after washing that too

microfiber towel for me, if you're using the leaf blower/vac just make sure the bags empty before setting it to blow haha. Dan

Tried this with my compressor. Flowrate wasn't enough to blow the water away with any degree of force and the tank wasn't large enough for anything more than a couple of minutes' use.

By comparison, the dedicated air blower I now use will dry the car really quickly, especially when the air warms up. Si. <This is my name.

I also use a combination of micro fibre towels and an airline from the compressor. The towels do most of the hard work and I use the airline to blow out nooks and crannies. (like wing mirrors, door handles, bonnet scuttle)

I find it pushes the hard to reach water out onto the body work then a quick mop up with the towel and it's done.

The most irritating thing is washing the car then going out.... all the drips from the wing mirrors end up spraying down the doors and the scuttle runs down the bonnet..! Ash

You need a big compressor if you want to dry the car with air.

I use a 23cfm Hydrovane and an air paint dryer to blow the water out of the crevices

Powered up without anything attached

This is it running with the air dryer attached,
Slight drop in pressure as the air dryer uses around 16cfm

I used a SIDE KICK blower for years (but for all my bikes, bit puny for a big car) however I don't recommend them as they are a bit fragile, I went through two or three as they kept failing. ALSO they re 110 volts and come with a transformer built into the plug and it get a bit hot with longer use.

I now use one of the these

Cheap, but seems to work well for both bikes and FF (and Motorhome) , if you modify the nozzle to get a flatter air stream, I used one of the wider nozzle ends from the old busted SideKicks, and some gaffer tape!!
