I took the RR to GEMM today and had it plugged into the computer. No faults showed up for the suspension, so a test run was done and Bobby seems to think it is working ok, possibly a fraction slow on changing from motorway mode back to standard mode. I guess I will have to let it develop Sad

The bad news however is that the engine management light wasn't coming on when the ignition was turned on, the computer is showing an EGR fault, Bobby cleared the fault and after the test drive checked again, the fault is back.

When I returned home I removed the dash from the vehicle and have stripped the cluster. I'm no electronisc expert but my guess is the management LED looks like it has been on for a while and fried some of the circuit board.

This is the LED in question

None of the other LEDs have the melted gloop round them

The good news is I met up with Tim whilst at GEMM and we went for a coffee at the Falkirk Wheel. Thanks for your assistance Tim, good to meet you Thumbs Up

Nice to meet you John and have a chat, just hope this hasn't opened a new can of worms for you! Might be worth considering the EGR blanking route (there are kits available and GEMM would be able to obtain one and fit it) but I don't know if this will leave the engine management light on all the time too - maybe one of the more techie people here will know. 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

If it has to be repaired Tim I'll just have to bite the bullet and have it done.

If blanking off the EGR valve is an option without upsetting the engine management system I would be interested in looking into that

United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Vogue Td6 Java Black

Hi

I'm travelling back to the UK from Greece at the moment and while travelling through Switzerland on the motorway I heard a 'ping' looked at the dash and saw the dreaded 'Air Suspension Inactive' message.

The car feels OK and I don't have any other messages or warning lights but the suspension is locked at normal ride height.

I pulled up at the earliest opportunity but after turning off the engine and waiting for 30 minutes then re-starting the fault remains.

Will it hurt to run the car at normal ride height at motorway speeds until I get back to the UK?

Does anyone know how to clear the message and return the car to normal operation without a trip to a main stealer?

It won't damage the car, the reason it lowers at motorway speeds is to help stablity and aerodynamics 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

I thought I could strip the cluster and check the LED with a meter, but unfortunately there is a chip on the underside of the LED which never allowed access so I have put everything back together for now.

The light isn't on so it won't bother me too much Big Cry
